Model Railway Exhibition

Long Melford Museum and Heritage Centre & Village Hall, CO10 9JG

Long Melford Museum and Heritage Centre are working with model railway enthusiast Nigel Locke and colleagues to bring to Long Melford for the very first time his 36ft x 12ft working model of Long Melford Junction as it would have looked like in the 1950’s. Along with this the Museum will also be displaying again its large collection of historic photographs which were the Tom Howlett collection. It is also hoped to have local steam engine enthusiasts displaying their engines in the car park of the museum/village hall on the day.

Admission is free, donations welcome in aid of the Museum and Heritage Centre.

Explore pockets of history from a range of different eras brought to life by Kentwell’s skilled living historians, spread throughout the buildings, gardens, farm and woodlands. Spend a whole day immersed in history at Kentwell and travel through time. Travel from the stone age to the 1970s, with each time period in its own individual setting, all properly equipped and costumed, and with activities appropriate to each individual period.

An excellent and stimulating combination of history and nostalgia, over 2000 years of history in one place, on one day – only at Kentwell!

Porsche Day at Kentwell Hall

The Porsche Club of Great Britain’s 60th Anniversary Rally at Kentwell Hall. It is hoped that many models covering every decade from the 1940’s onwards will attend. There will be a special selection of vehicles on show on the lawn in front of the Hall.

The House itself will be open from 12 Noon to 4:00pm. The majority of rooms will be open apart from the ones the family are using.

An active day out for explorers of all ages – a breath of fresh air for everyone!
